Andrea Cavero is an undergraduate Bioengineering student of Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología (Perú). In 2022, she joined the Biomedical Engineering Laboratory "Álvarez-Trujillo" of Tecnológico de Monterrey as a visiting student to develop her undergraduate thesis. Her research project consists in the production of multimaterial and robust hollow fibers for maturation of skeletal muscle tissue using chaotic bioprinting. Her research interests include biomaterials, 3D bioprinting, drug delivery, stem cells, and cell & gene therapy. Besides her interest in research, she is encouraging young people to follow a career path in STEM. For that purpose, she has been speaker in online events and mainstream media as a spokesperson of Skills4Girls Project of UNICEF in Perú.
